Hare Krishna!
Sri Krishna Madhurashtakam was composed by Sri Vallabhacharya(1478 A.D). This is a unique stotra in Sanskrit language describing the sweetness of Lord Sri Krishna. This stotra consists of 8 verses. As the name itself Madhurashtakam suggests that the word 'ashtakam' means 8 verses, and the word 'Madhura' repeats 7 times each in this Ashtakam. This stotra uses one adjective "Madhuram" meaning sweet, beautiful etc.., To describe lovely aspects of lord Krishna, who is the master of sweetness. He deals everything sweetly. His words are sweet, he plays 'Bansuri(Flute)' which gives 'Madhura swar'(sweet and pleasant music), his childhood activities are sweet, his naughtiness during his childhood is sweet, he used to stole butter and milk as thief is a kind of sweetness in his life, what not, everything, his life is full of sweetness. It is described in Madhurashtakam
that the devotee is fascinated to have a look at not only the beautiful divine sweet form [sarvanga sundara rupam] of Lord Krishna but also the very existence of the Lord -- by way of His moves, plays, pastimes, etc. Thus says the devotee: "The Lord of Mathura, Krishna, is sweet, sweet and nothing but sweet! Even ambrosia and nectar may satiate after some time, but concerning the sweetness of the Divine Lord, one cannot have enough of it. Krishna's lips are very sweet, his beautiful face is sweet, his beautiful black eyes with sidelong glances are sweet, his enchanting smile is even sweeter, his love-sports are sweet and his three-fold bend form is very sweet. O Lord of sweetness, everything about You is completely sweet, You are sweetness personified. Lets chant 'Sri Krishna Madhurashtakam'.
